About Quadriga

Who We Are
Quadriga MotorSports™ - a division of MotorSports Emporium, Inc, (publicly traded under the symbol MSEP). QUADRIGA brand represents superior quality and high performance automotive products.

Our Name
Quadriga ( kwŏd-rē 'gē -rī ')- n., of quadrīga from the Latin language quadric-, four and jungere, to yoke, is a four-horse chariot, raced in sacred events and the Olympic Games. Quadriga represents power, integrity, performance and a symbol of excellence.

Our Logo
Four parallelograms with the colors Blue, Green White and Red represent the four original colors worn by the charioteers over 2,000 years ago. In antiquity, fans were passionately devoted to one team and would proclaim themselves “supporters of the Red team” much like Toffosi is for Ferrari F1 fans.

Brief History
The first literary reference to a horse drawn chariot race is in the epic story of Troy described in Book 23 of the Iliad by Homer. Achilles arranged a chariot race for his fallen friend (Patroclus) during his funeral games.

Chariot racing dates back to sixth century BC and was possibly the oldest spectator sport in Rome. Races became commercialized with organized betting and even grew to rival the gladiator games with over 150,000 in attendance in the famous Circus Maximus.

The most important of all the races were the teams of four horses (QUADRIGAE) controlled by one driver who possessed extraordinary racing skill. The Quadrigae races drew the largest crowds and were the most spectacular of all the races.

Modern Day Similarities
No event in ancient Rome compared to the speed, thrill and danger of chariot racing. Today we see many similarities from 2,000 years of evolution. There are more accurate comparisons than you may think.

Venues - Just like modern day auto racing, chariot races were held at different tracks in different cities and countries and formed a genuine championship. Drivers and even horses (today’s comparisons to cars) were celebrated with posters plastered on buildings. Just like Daytona, Indy and Monaco the Circus Maximus packed a full house.

Safety and Technology - Even in the old world safety was a very important factor as was technology. Helmets were worn and safety harness used. The Romans used wooden and wicker chariots to gain advantages in weight. Wheels were constantly being developed (much like tire manufacturers battle today). Each of the four Quadrigae teams or ( faction) - blue, green white and red totaled over 100 people. Every team had their own vets (modern day mechanics), doctor, team managers and a pool of talented young drivers.

Racing Series - Like the current ladder or feeder series today, young drivers start in a B igae - two horse chariot (equivalent to go-karts) moving into Triage- three horses (Infiniti Pro or Sprint Cars) and finally graduating into the penultimate racing series Quadriga - four horse chariot (IRL, NASCAR or F1).

Winnings - As in modem times, success in ancient racing bestowed social status. In comparison to the winnings of Dale Earnhardt Jr. or even Michael Schumacher; Diocles, a chariot driver from ancient Portugal, earned an equivalent of $25 million US dollars.

Our name, Quadriga MotorSports™, symbolizes prestige with a timeless racing heritage. You can be assured that any product displaying the QUARDRIGA brand name is of the highest quality and developed specifically to endure the demands of any auto sport.
